A quiet space is created when the rest of the world and the mind become silent in the strokes of the brush. In a quiet space, one hears that for which there are no words yet, that which has been silenced by external noise. The words and forms created in the quiet are rest, answers, directions, questions. Painting is listening and the creation of form is intuitive.
Marianne Lukkarinen is an artist from Oulu who paints symbolic paintings in the silence of her own studio to think with a brush and perceive the world.
She develops art teaching methods that strengthen well-being and also paints paintings that strengthen people at their homes, paintings by their side. She has walked alongside people with a brush not only at meaningful points in their lives, but also in times of sorrow and passing. Alongside walking alongside, she needs a quiet space in which these works are created. The Silent Space exhibition is a sister exhibition to the Walking Next Door exhibition at the Oulu Girls' House until 28.2.25.
Marianne is an artist with a background in educational psychology, a Master of Arts in Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts. She works as an artist under the assistant title Vierella Osuuskunta Lilith and teaches well-being art at Liminka Art School.
